Encapsulated transition metal catalysts comprising peripheral Zn(II)salen building blocks: template-controlled reactivity and selectivity in hydroformylation catalysis.

چکیده
Encapsulated phosphane ligands can be easily constructed through coordinative interactions between Zn(II)-salphen complexes and pyridylphosphane templates; the template has a pronounced impact on the catalyst structure and consequently on the performance in the hydroformylation of 1-octene.

Alternative metals for homogeneous catalyzed hydroformylation reactions.
Transition-metal-catalyzed hydroformylation reactions constitute one of the most powerful tools for C-C bond formation in organic synthesis and represent an outstanding example of the application of homogeneous catalysis on an industrial scale. This process allows for the straightforward conversion of inexpensive chemical feedstock into broadly applicable aldehydes, which serve as major buildin...
متن کاملHighly active oligomeric (salen)co catalysts for asymmetric epoxide ring-opening reactions.
Cooperative bimetallic catalysis has been documented in several recently reported asymmetric epoxide opening reactions that display second-order kinetic dependence on catalyst, specific requirements for multiple metal ions, and/or pronounced catalyst nonlinear effects.1 In such systems, one metal is proposed to serve as Lewis acid for epoxide activation and another as counterion for the nucleop...
متن کاملCatalyzed Oxidation of Cyclohexene and Cyclooctene with First Row Transition etallophthalocyanines
First row transition metal complexes of phthalocyanine are employed as catalysts for the oxidation of cyclohexene and cyclooctene using iodosylbenzene and pentafluoroiodosyl benzene. The catalysis was performed in dichloromethane: methanol:water (80:18:2) solvent mixture. The products of the catalysis for cyclohexene are epoxycyclohexane, 2-cyclohexene-1-ol and 2-cyclohexene-1-one whereas ...
متن کاملComputational aspects of hydroformylation
The influence of transition metal complexes as catalysts upon the activity and selectivity of hydroformylation reactions has been extensively investigated during the last decades. Nowadays computational chemistry is an indispensable tool for elucidation of reaction mechanisms and for understanding the various aspects which govern the outcome of catalytic reactions. This review attempts to surve...
متن کاملCatalysts through self-assembly for combinatorial homogeneous catalysis*
Inspired by the principle of DNA base-pairing, a new concept for the self-assembly of molecular catalysts is described herein. Thus, employing A–T analogous complementary hydrogen-bonding templates, self-assembly of monodentate to bidentate ligands in the coordination sphere of a transition-metal salt occurs to give defined self-assembly catalysts. This approach is intrinsically combinatorial a...
